Overview

Traditional Node.js application servers are exposed to security risks when running 3rd party NPM packages.  IJS's Secure Node allows developers to use NPM Packages with fewer concerns as logic runs on isolated Virtual Machines (VMs).  IJS has released this framework as open source to enable the community to build more secure solutions.

  • Secure Server - A default IJS secure server is provided, supporting SSL protocol by default and only using a minimum set of code-reviewed NPM packages to get you started.
  • Isolated VM architecture - With IJS Secure Node, completely isolated runtimes are established for application logic so 3rd party code does not have unrestricted access to common server resources.
  • Sample Code - IJS has provided a selection of IJS packages using this new security model to wrap 3rd Party NPM packages to provide both functionality and security.
